Bangles are made of Capiz shell. Capiz is actually the name of a province in the Philippines. The province is known for the brilliant Capiz shell produced. The shells are used for decoration purposes, such as lanterns and vases (and in this case, bangles!). The Capiz shell has a luster similar to mother of pearl shells.
